How Much Do Dental Implants Cost?

Posted on: March 15, 2021

3 minute read

Living with tooth loss can be a real struggle, especially when it comes to the way you speak, the foods you can eat, and most importantly, your smile.

While there are many solutions to replacing teeth, nothing matches the benefits and aesthetics of dental implants. Often considered to be the gold standard solution for replacing missing or failing teeth, implants mimic the function and appearance of a natural tooth, and with proper care, can last you for years to come.

One of the most common questions that patients ask in regards to dental implants is about the price of their procedure. While it is true that dental implants are not the cheapest option, many patients find that over the course of their lifetime, implants prove to be a life changing investment that saves them on time, headache, and overall cost.

If you’re looking to restore the appearance and function of your smile, scheduling a consultation at Perth Dental Implant Centre is the first step towards a lifetime of healthier smiles.

What Influences the Cost of Dental Implants?

Help prevent bone loss

The overall cost of dental implants is difficult to provide without first receiving an in-depth examination by our experienced dentists here at Perth Dental Implant Centre. You’ll see below that we can provide you with an estimated cost of the implant treatment itself, but there are many other factors that you, and our team, will need to consider that may influence that price. This is because receiving dental implant treatment is an advanced surgical procedure that requires the dentist and team to use years of education, experience, and technology to achieve a successful outcome.

Factors that are often considered and impact the overall cost of dental implants include:

  • Bone volume in the jaw
  • Location and number of teeth to be replaced
  • Presence of gum disease
  • Underlying health or medical conditions
  • The implant system you choose
  • The teeth you choose
  • Technology and sedation options

Single Tooth Dental Implants

single-tooth-implant-replacement

Single tooth implants are ideal for replacing one tooth or two teeth that are missing in different areas of the mouth. This option is a one-for-one replacement, where the dental implant will directly replace the individual tooth. A single tooth dental implant includes a biocompatible implant post that is surgically placed within the jaw bone, a functional and aesthetic dental crown, and an abutment piece to connect everything together. Once fully healed, a single dental implant can blend in seamlessly with surrounding teeth and give you a complete and functional smile again.

This option can be suitable for patients who have an overall healthy mouth, but have one or two problem areas or missing teeth. Single dental implants are able to complete your smile again and get you back to full function.

Immediate implants

Immediate implants

In some circumstances, it’s possible to replace a failing single tooth with an immediate implant and crown. Removing and replacing  a damaged tooth with a dental implant on the same day can maintain the appearance of your smile and avoid problems associated with temporary tooth loss, such as chewing food, speaking, moving teeth and jaw bone loss.

Immediate implants

If you have several missing teeth or teeth that are failing due to disease, damage, or poor structural support, replacing them one at a time may not be the ideal option as it can be more costly in the long run. To find out if a single dental implant is ideal for your specific case, schedule a consultation with our team.

PDIC-Small-implant-bridge

Small fixed dental implant bridges are designed to replace several missing or damaged teeth in a row. A small fixed bridge usually consists of two dental implants and a bridge of three to four teeth. The treatment process for placing a three unit fixed dental implant bridge is similar to placing a single dental implant.

Fixed Implant Bridge Price: From $7,500 (3-unit bridge)

Implant-Retained Dentures

Types of implant-retained dentures

While dentures are a common and inexpensive option for those with tooth loss, dental implants can help provide patients with a more secure, comfortable and long-term solution. By placing as few as two implants into the top or bottom jaw, our team can secure them to a denture prosthesis. The benefit this offers patients is greatly improved stability within the mouth, a stronger overall bite, and improved comfort while wearing them. Implant-retained dentures can solve for many of the common problems denture wearers experience.

Implant-retained dentures are excellent for those who are already wearing dentures, or those who will soon need to transition to them. The benefits make wearing dentures much more convenient. This is also ideal for those who have minimal bone support, but can take some getting used to because they still require patients to remove them for cleaning and sleeping. If you are looking for a fixed solution, fixed full mouth implant bridges may be a better option.

Upper Implant-Retained Denture Price: From $20,000 (upper denture on four Nobel Biocare dental implants)

All-On-4® Dental Implant Bridges

Patients who have a full mouth of missing or failing teeth can completely replace either top or bottom arch, or both, with All-On-4® dental implants. With as few as four dental implants placed into the jaw bone, we can create a fixed bridge of teeth that look, feel, and function naturally. This means that the teeth are permanently attached to your jaw, which provides a natural, comfortable, stable, and strong bite. You’ll be able to live life without thinking about your prosthetic teeth aside from routine cleaning and dental appointments.

A fixed implant bridge is ideal for those who want the closest thing to a natural functioning smile. This treatment restores the function and aesthetics to the smile and also preserves the bone in the jaw. Since patients never have to remove the teeth, they are able to live a much more natural lifestyle and clean their bridge as they would with natural teeth. While treatment cost is considerable, patients may find the lifestyle benefits and longevity of the solution to be worthwhile.

The term All-On-4® refers a full set of teeth supported on four dental implants. The teeth are typically supported by a full mouth fixed bridge. The surgical protocol and the dental implants themselves are a registered trademark of Swiss dental implant company, Nobel Biocare. The protocol involves placing the two dental implants at the front of the mouth and two dental implants at the back of the mouth at a 45 degree angle so as to avoid or reduce the need for a bone grafting procedure.  All-On-4® offers a premium smile solution for replacing all missing or badly damaged teeth.

Perth Dental Implant Centre is proud to be recognised as an All-On-4® Centre of Excellence by Nobel BioCare, home of the All-On-4® treatment concept. One of a handful of All-On-4® Centres of Excellence across Australia, this designation demonstrates our surgical experience and completed training in All-On-4® techniques using genuine Nobel BioCare dental implants. The Perth Dental Implant Centre Difference

The PDIC difference

When it comes to dental implant treatment, you want to choose a dental surgeon and practice that have experience, technology, and your best interests at heart.

Perth Dental Implant Centre offers all of these benefits and more to every one of our patients. We have two dedicated dental implant facilities in Perth, Australia, and over 15 years of experience, and a commitment to professional development and continuing education to offer patients successful treatment outcomes.

Patient safety is a leading priority for our practice, which is why we use 3D scanners to capture detailed images of the mouth and oral structures. Additionally, patients can choose to receive single implants with modern 3D guided implant surgery (a form of keyhole surgery) that removes the guesswork from the process and creates a faster, more predictable and less invasive procedure.
