Early super access for All-on-4® finance

If the upfront cost of All-on-4® treatment is out of reach, and you want to avoid putting up with ongoing pain from missing or badly damaged teeth, early access to superannuation funds could be an option to restore your smile sooner.

At Perth Dental Implant Centre, we can help you apply for early release of retirement funds through SuperCare or Super Health Ensemble, helping you to fully or partially pay for All-on-4® treatment for you or an eligible family member. Am I eligible?

If you or a family member is struggling with the effects of missing or damaged teeth and not able to afford dental treatment, it may be possible to approve the early release of super funds on compassionate grounds. This is assessed on a case by case basis and requires:

• that you are a citizen or permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand
• confirmation from your doctor and dentist that you are suffering from acute or chronic pain or mental illness as a result of your dental condition
• evidence that you have no other means of paying for the treatment, such as taking out a loan or savings
• documents supporting the application

You may be able to use your super to pay for treatment for a dependant, such as a spouse, child or someone else you have an interdependent relationship with.

Not all super funds approve the early release of funds, so it’s important to check with your superannuation provider first about whether this is an option for you.

How much can I withdraw?

If you’re approved for early super release, there is no minimum or maximum limit that can be withdrawn, depending on whether you need help to cover all or only part of your treatment costs. However, it’s important to remember that making withdrawals from your super fund could impact on your future retirement income.

Your dentist will first need to carry out an assessment and develop your treatment plan before they can give you a finalised quote for your All-on-4® treatment cost. Your treatment will only begin after your application has been approved and your funds are released.

How much does it cost?

Withdrawing super funds early incurs fees:

• If you are under 60, the Australian Tax Office (ATO) will charge 20–25% tax on the amount released. This will be deducted from your super fund.
• If you are over 60, withdrawals are tax free.
• Additional fees may be charged by third-party providers.

Early superannuation payments count towards your taxable income in the current year. This is important to be aware of, as it could affect the welfare payments you are entitled to claim.

How to apply

Our team at Perth Dental Implant Centre can help you to apply for early super release through SuperCare or Super Health Ensemble, or you may prefer to apply directly through my.gov.au.

When applying, you will need to submit the following documents:

• An application form for early super release
• Your All-on-4® treatment plan detailing all stages of the treatment
• An itemised All-on-4® quote (no more than 6 months old) or unpaid invoice (no more than 30 days old)
• Two medical reports, one signed by your dentist and the other by your doctor or another registered medical specialist (signed within the last 6 months)

Additional documents may be needed if your super funds are covering other related expenses such as anaesthetist or hospital fees.

When will the funds be sent?

If your super withdrawal is approved, your funds should be transferred within 7–28 days. It could take longer if the ATO requests more information or has questions about your application. Informing your superannuation provider of your plans in advance could help to avoid delays.

Once the funds are received, your dentist can start to schedule your All-on-4® treatment.

SuperCare

As a SuperCare provider, we can help you to complete your application for super withdrawal through a trusted third party. SuperCare charges a service fee of $680, and funds may sometimes be transferred in as little as 7 days, depending on the case.

If you are not approved for early super release, SuperCare do not take a fee.

Supercare

Super Health Ensemble

We also partner with Super Health Ensemble , which can guide you through the application process with your super fund. Super Health Ensemble charges a service fee of $660 and funds are usually transferred within 20 days, unless there are delays.
